Huntresses

I was reading last night when Melly detected something under the bed.

First it was on the left...

Then it was on the right...

And then the danger passed.

I am not a fan of the creepy crawly variety of intruder (those enormous brown spiders are particularly horrifying), so it's a good thing I have two such vigilant felines keeping watch.

It must have been the thing that hangs out in the corner that only Scarlett and Melly can see.

I hope that it was totally consumed (later). Nothing is more horrifying than a half a beetle on the bathroom floor first thing in the morning...

Melly looks very fetching in her red collar! So glad they kept you safe.

I can't tell you how many times I've awoken in the middle of the night and in that barely visible world noticed a cat staring intently at the floor. On goes the light and with shoe or something similar in hand I join the hunt. Alas, it is almost cricket season...harder to smack down but less terrifying (to me) than a spider.

We love to follow ants across the floor with our noses almos right on them. Fortunately for The Big Thing there is only one every few days. We would like more of them...

Ahh yes, our fearless feline bug hunters. I have two of them too. My tabby will hurl herself in the air after a fly. Never have to worry about the bugs in my place.
