A Development

After I got up from the couch and left the room for a few minutes, I found upon returning that my spot had been usurped.

I kept my camera out in case of any interesting developments, but I expected that, as in yesterday's post, Scarlett would depart fairly quickly.

These pictures were taken over the course of the next hour:

Pretty amazing, eh? They've been sparring a lot lately, so seeing them like this was thrilling. I kept thinking they couldn't possibly get cuter, and then Melly rolled belly-up. Good gracious, the adorableness.

Look at that! OMC, it's cuteness overload! Awwww, they do like each other just fine. :-)

So cute! That is the kind of usurping that you have to allow - happens at our house on rare occasions (usually it is cats that are already snuggly together though) and you just have to let them stay when it is such a great move foward like this!!

Oh my gosh, I don't know I could have stopped myself from squeeing out loud (and disturbing the adorable pair).

Love the belly floof on Melly and her contortions :D

I think it is funny to see how hard kitty cats work at napping. They are really putting their backs into it.

Melly sure naps actively! Scarlett moves around some, but Melly is all over the place.

OMG! Obviously the scent of you on the sofa lulled both of them into utter contentment...the photo of Melly with her face buried in Scarlett's tummy is just fantastic.

It is SO good to see the girls peacefully sharing a space. :)

My favorite photograph is the one where Scarlett has a paw over her eyes. Very dear.

That Melly. She just sops life up with a biscuit, doesn't she?

Congrats! It took my older kitty almost 4 years to allow this sort of touching on a regular basis. I notice as it's getting cooler that my older cat puts up with the touching a lot more - she likes to stay warm. The little one always goes too far (like standing on her sister and making biscuits) and tends to get smacked in the head once before settling down.

Scarlett could only resist Melly for so long! This is so sweet:) My girls will only sleep on the same couch together if they are as far away from each other as possible, and they have lived together for 6yrs.

My girls have been together for going on 4 years, and they still don't cuddle like this. Heck, I don't think they have been closer than 2 feet. This is awesome!
