Sweet Scarlett

Scarlett is never happier than when snuggling, and fortunately for her, I am always happy to oblige.

Also, I thought I should give a furminator update. Scarlett loves being brushed with it, and she does seem to be shedding less (she used to shed handfuls of hair at the slightest touch, but now it's just a few hairs here and there). Melly, on the other hand, suddenly decided she hated the furminator after happily submitting to it several times, and now she refuses let it near her. The end result is that even though Scarlett is shedding less, Melly is shedding just as much and I have to vacuum as frequently as before. So unfortunately, the furminator doesn't live up to my high hopes of less cat hair in the apartment, but Scarlett likes it, so it was a worthwhile purchase.

ETA: I should add that the people who make the furminator have no idea who I am and I'm not being paid or otherwise compensated for this review. Also, in case you are looking for your own furminator, I got mine from amazon.com (they are not paying me either), where the cost was a lot lower than at pet stores or on the furminator website.

Awwwww, Scarlett, we think you are adorable.

Our mama would love to have a furminator for us boys with our long furs, but they are very costly for someone with our mama's fixed income....especially when she's not sure if we would take to it like Scarlett, or if we would dislike it like Melly does!!!!!

Anyway, the really important thing to us is that we love you girls and are so very happy to count you as friends. xxxxxxxxx

Scarlett is such a cutie! And think of it this way - there really is less fur around, it just isn't enough to notice the difference! We had that at our house too with the furminator - the sudden change from tolerating to hating. Not sure why but I would love to figure it out!

I have found short hair cats like the furminator, my nermal loves, my long hair girls hate it -- they do like the slicker brushes though - an option? Silly cats

I do enjoy Melly's facebook statuses.

Our mum has been thinking about getting us a furminator for some time. She never thought we might not take to it.

Super snuggles. How nice that Scarlett, at least, likes to be brushed with the furminator.

I bought one after being assured my cats would LOVVVVVVVVVE it.. no one did. They all (can't remember if it was five or six at the time, a mix of long and medium and short haired cats) looked at me like I was crazy. I packed it up and returned it.

I bought a furminator after seeing your first post, too. To my astonishment, BOTH my long hair and my short hair cat like it, and neither have liked being brushed before AT ALL! So go figure. Thanks for the unsolicited endorsement, it's improved our household!

We have several brushes and combs, and none of us like anny of them. But we keep hearing good things about the Furminator. Might give it a try...

We'd like to cuddle with you Scarlett! We have a furminator and don't like it at all. We'll tolerate it for 3 seconds and that's it. Our sisfur Sadie got one though and she likes it and she used to hate being combed worse than us.

Sweet Scarlett!!

Although my cat can't be described as overjoyed by the furminator, he will tolerate it. The best benefit to using it is that he isn't barfing up furballs when I remember to use it.

My cats are sort of split when it comes to the furminator. Casper likes it but he likes being brushed in general, Ben tolerates a few strokes with it, Archie won't let me near him with it and I haven't tried it on Jimmy because he is just a youngster and doesn't seem to shed much. Anyway Casper is the only longer haired cat that I have and the one who sheds the most, so it is a big bonus that he likes it :-)

YOU are a snuggle bunny!
Mom is more of a snuggler than I am. But I do have to sleep on top of her every night. She says I choke her I sleep so close to her neck.

thanks so much for your honest assessment and for directing us to where we can purchase it at a lower cost.

Cody tries to chew everything that brushes him (neither he or Bobo enjoyed being brushed)...but for Dakota this might be a good idea!

Funny, my human just Furminated Boodie yesterday and that is what I am blogging about tomorrow! Frankly, I wish it had been me - I love brushing, furminating, whatever, just all of it!

My two shorthaired cats love the furminator but my longhaired, Tigger, hates it. Fortunately, Tigger can be bribed. If I brush him with one hand and feed him treats with the other, I can get quite a lot of loose fur off him in those few minutes.

I love the furminator. The Hannah seems to like it and it has really reduced her shedding.

Mommy uses the furminator on us too! Bronzy puts up with it grudgingly and I hate it to the maximum times ten!!!

Scarlett, you are a beauty--and you look so content. *snuggle*

All of our gang hates to be brushed, but I try every week. I will have a bag of treats nearby and break them into tiny pieces. I'll brush one of the cats, then toss them a tidbit; repeat until everyone is grumpy. :-)

Gorgeous Miss Scarlett! I have thought about getting a furminator as my tuxi boy cat sheds so much. My tabby girl doesn't shed much so not sure she will need it. Not sure if they will tolerate it though.
