Adopt the Internet

Petfinder Adopt-the-Internet Day

In case you haven't heard, today is Adopt the Internet Day! My cats have come through a Human Society foster home (hi Sue!), a Craigslist post, and a classified ad in a town newspaper, so I don't have personal experience with Petfinder.com. However, I do encourage those considering adding a pet to their lives to think about adopting shelter animals, or animals who might otherwise end up in a shelter.

For example, the handsome fellow pictured below is available at the Tacoma Humane Society. As a black cat, he is statistically less likely to be adopted. Poor little dude doesn't even have a name yet.

He's so cute! I had two blacks, and now have one and a tux. I always am partial to them. So pretty. So hard to see on the stairs at night but so pretty. That poor boy looks like he wants some love!

Awww, we hope someone falls in love with him soon and gives him a wonderful forever home!

We're participating in Adopt the Internet Day. The shelter we were adopted from posts their kitties on PetFinder, as well as has satellite adoption centres (which is how our mom found us).

We have great hope that a wonderful Forever Home is just waiting to warmly welcome a kitty like him.

Pet adoptions are so necessary....whether they be from a shelter or a stray like our new sister, Shelly was. We feel that she must have been "left behind" when someone moved, as otherwise she wouldn't have been so friendly to our humans.

We should only have 2 pets in our apartment complex, but we just couldn't leave Shelly outside, and we couldn't send her to a shelter....if we could have found one that would take her.

Sadly, it's impossible in San Antonio to find a no kill shelter that will actually take in kitties.......if anyone reading this knows of one, please email us at samandy007@satx.rr.com and let us know.....we have several other kitties in our complex that don't seem to have homes....and they just keep breeding and breeding.....so sad, cuz all kitties deserve a loving home.

We send y'all our love.

When we saw that picture of the black kitty it made us think of Mickey...goodness he looks so much like Mickey. (as you can tell we miss Mickey)
We will purr that this little guy finds his forever and ever home...

Yay, Natalie! I'm so glad to see all the promotions of Adopt the Internet Day!! We'll be purring for the nameless black knight to find his own castle!

I don't know why more humans don't adopt black cats. Black cats rule!

So sweet, Natalie. Thank you.

Petfinder is nice because it can let you look for cats across a number of groups and shelters in your area, which is especially nice in more urban areas where there may be a lot of groups operating.

I got my latest cat through them by looking at the pictures in my area, then finding how to locate that particular shelter.
