Melly and the New Neighbor

An interesting thing happened over the weekend.  We had a visit from a new outdoor cat (for some reason, there are a lot of new ones this year), and this one was a female who looked like she might have recently been pregnant.  She wasn't aggressive at all, but just wanted to stare through the window at Scarlett and Melly.

Now for the really strange part: Scarlett couldn't possibly have cared less that the cat was there, and it was Melly who was irked!

You can never tell when your cat is going to like or dislike a neighbor, can you? In our last house, there were two cats that came around all the time, an orange tom who Emily HATED, and then a grey feral boy who she liked so much she'd even invite him to come in (through the bathroom window over the porch roof) to share her kibble! Silly cats!

Melly is really NOT pleased, is she? And then silly Scarlett, sitting there looking all dignified, as if she would NEVER act in such a way! :)

oh gosh, poor Melly Bean. Such a darling squeak! Love Scarlett's reaction or lack thereof.

Nearly spewed my coffee on the keyboard when you flipped to double time and added the caption :D

Melly, I do that to the window too even with no kitty outside but I have to admit we all giggled at the double time! We're sorry the kitty was bugging you so much!

I get the feeling that at least two out of the three of us here would be WAY more upset at that intruder! Can you guess which? I will give you a hint: one is not Boodie.

I love this posting. I first love it because of the helpful giant red arrow pointing directly down at the visiting neighborhood cat. And then "double time" made me spew coffee! I'm glad Melly is relatively mellow, and Scarlett is uninterested.

I'm with Cynthia- glad Melly was mellow and Scarlett wasn't freaked out.
