The Evolution of Melly's Nicknames

Melly

rhymes with

Jelly

like

Jellybean

ergo

Mellybean

was shortened to

Bean

became

Beano

because she could use it.

LOL!. I had a list like that from my childhood cat, Berries. Her original name was Jasper--Jasberries--Berries--My kitty--Mitty--Mid. So you're not alone!

I had one of those - Bridget - along one branch we had Bridget Widget Fidget Midget, which for some reason led to Widge. Along another branch we had Biddy (Irish nickname for Bridget) which led to Biddle/Little Biddle, Bid, Little B; then, Breege (another Irish nickname for Bridget) and then Beege. She was the most nicknamed cat ever.
