Work has been nuts lately, and non-work things have been busy too; last weekend, I was a bridesmaid at a wedding in New Jersey:
The poor kitties have been a little neglected as a result of work, travel, etc., but I'm trying to make it up to them with lots of playtime and treats. They, of course, are taking full advantage of my guilt and are being very demanding.
Speaking of playtime, Melly has been going bananas on the scratching post lately. She particularly loves climbing up the vertical scratching posts, then rolling around crazily on the second-highest platform. She is such a nut.
My living room has been torn apart for the past several days due to some minor moisture intrusion that needed to be repaired. Surprisingly, the cats were mostly fascinated by all the action. Melly even snoopervised the painter for a bit.
Here she is, keeping an eye on the drying plaster:
I think Scarlett was more interested in the fan than the plaster, but even she got in on the action:
All the furniture was pushed to the opposite wall, and Melly enjoyed the new location of the cat tree:
I love this picture of Geoff and Scarlett. The two of them hung out on the couch for about an hour last night, and Scarlett was thrilled by the undivided attention from her beloved Geoffrey. He scritched her head and even kept Melly off the couch so she couldn't bother Scarlett.
Geoff is feigning indifference in this photo because I took about twenty before this one and he was getting annoyed by the camera. Scarlett, as you can see, is pleased as punch to have her happy moment documented.
